Pedestrian reports being robbed at knifepoint in Myrtle Beach

A 19-year-old woman told Myrtle Beach police she was robbed at knifepoint by a man who drove up to her while she walked in the area of 11th Avenue South and Oak Street, according to a police report.
The woman told officers that she was walking about 11:30 p.m. Monday when a man drove up in a four-door sedan, got out armed with a knife and walked up to her and grabbed her bag, police said. The victim said the man never said anything to her.
The victim said she struggled with him and items inside her bag fell to the ground, according to the report. The victim said the man pushed her to the ground, took her bag, returned to his vehicle and left.
The victim said she walked to a nearby beachwear store and called police. Officers found some of the woman’s property scattered on the sidewalk. The woman valued at the bag at $40 and said she had about $200 cash inside in addition to personal items and identification documents.
