A Myrtle Beach man remained jailed Friday morning on $627 bond after police said he tried to run from them and into a store front glass window, which shattered, according to a police report.

Francis Charles Coryer, 42, was charged with public intoxication and possession or consume alcohol on row, according to Myrtle Beach Jail records.

In the report, officers noted that they were called at 1:11 p.m. Thursday to Chapin Park for an intoxicated man. While on the way there, the officer learned the man was seen running northbound through the parking lot of the Bagel Factory at 2012 N. Kings Highway.

An officer found the man, who was unsteady on his feet as he ran, and asked him to stop running, according to the report. The man, Coryer, turned to run away from the officer and stumbled into the large window of the business.

The window shattered and Coryer was cut on his arm and face. Coryer was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, treated and released.

Damage to the window was estimated at $1,000.
