Myrtle Beach police are searching for a man that is suspected of shooting someone in the leg around 2:30 a.m. Monday on South Kings Highway.

An officer was responding to a report of shots fired at a parking lot at 501 S. Kings Highway when he observed a victim with a gun shot wound to his leg. The victim told police that he and another male fought behind the victim’s vehicle.

After the fight, the suspect walked to his car, described as a black 2-door coupe in police reports, retrieved a gun and began firing in the direction of the victim. The suspect also hit the victim’s left front tire, causing it to puncture, before fleeing.

A security guard said he witnessed the fight and heard the shots fired, and a friend of the victim also witnessed the altercation.

The suspect was described as a 19-year-old male, 6-feet tall and about 150 pounds last seen wearing camo shorts and a Miami Heat hat.
