North Myrtle Beach police look for sexual assault suspect

Police in North Myrtle Beach are looking for a man in connection with an attempted sexual assault, according to an alert from the public safety department.

Authorities issued a warrant for Robert Hayes Jr., 26, of Longs, charging him with attempting to commit criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

An arrest warrant accuses Hayes of touching a 12-year-old girl under her clothing her about 7:30 a.m. June 29. The girl told police she woke up to Hayes touching her all over her body while she pretended to sleep.
