Myrtle Beach man reports stabbing attempt, being hit with ashtray

A 51-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police a 27-year-old woman tried to stab him with a knife and hit him in the head with an astray after she was asked to leave a home on Myrtle Street, according to a police report.
The victim told officers that about 11 p.m. Tuesday he and the woman got into an argument so his girlfriend asked the woman to leave, police said. But the suspect picked up a knife and tried to stab the victim.
The victim said he knocked the knife from the suspect’s hand, according to the report. The victim said the suspect then picked up an ashtray and hit him in the head, which caused a cut.
The victim said the suspect then walked away and was last seen going east on Second Avenue South, according to the report. Officers searched for the suspect, but did not find her in the area.
