An Horry County man died Saturday night in a motorcycle crash in North Myrtle Beach, according to authorities.
Michael Jackson, 34, of Longs was pronounced dead at 11:59 p.m. Saturday while he was being treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said.
Jackson had been driving a motorcycle on U.S. 17 near 46th Avenue in North Myrtle Beach near Alligator Adventure when officials said he failed to stop for a red light and struck the side of a vehicle that was turning at the intersection, Fowler said.
Jackson was not wearing a helmet and died from head trauma, Fowler said.
