A 45-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police that a man tried to rob him and then run over him with a vehicle in a convenience store parking lot, according to a police report.

The victim called police at 5 a.m. Sunday to the 1000 block of Third Avenue South to report the incident.

The victim said he was seated in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Kangaroo when a vehicle pulled up beside him and the driver asked him to make change for a $10 bill, according to the report. When the driver walked over to the victim’s door, the victim said the driver tried to take the money from his hand, but he wouldn’t let go.

The victim said he bit the robber several times on the wrist before he let go and returned to his vehicle, according to the report. The victim got out and approached the robber’s car and the robber hit the victim, which caused him to fall down.

The victim said the robber sped away and the victim refused EMS treatment for minor injuries.
