Reported missing swimmer actually a sea turtle in Horry County

Authorities in Horry County and Surfside Beach were searching for a swimmer reported missing in the ocean, Friday afternoon after a beachgoer saw what appeared to be a swimmer in distress.

There was no swimmer, instead it was a sea turtle, said Horry County Police Lt. Robert Kegler.

Surfside Beach assisted the search, said Police Chief Rodney Keziah which was reported by someone on the beach at Ocean Lakes Campground just north of town limits.
