Myrtle Beach police charged a Murrells Inlet woman with prostitution late Thursday in the city, according to a police report.

Rachel Leigh Jenkins, 36, was charged with first-offense prostitution about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of 20th Avenue South and Yaupon Drive, police said.

An officer working undercover wrote in the report that he was driving north on Yaupon Drive when he saw Jenkins walking along the road and she flagged him down and asked for a ride. Once inside the vehicle, the officer said Jenkins offered to perform a sexual act for money and other officers stopped them and arrested Jenkins.

She was being held Friday morning at 6:45 a.m. at the Myrtle Beach Jail on $781 cash bond, according to jail records.
