A Conway teen wanted in a January shooting was arrested after officers chased a group of teens on a stolen golf cart early Monday, according to Horry County police reports.

Quashawn Cliff Bromell, 18, of Conway was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 10 a.m. Monday and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to jail records. Bromell remains jailed pending a bond hearing.

Horry County police filed the charges that stemmed from a 5 p.m. Jan. 16 shooting at a home on Commonwealth Circle in Conway, according to a report. In that incident a 35-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Conway Medical Center by a private vehicle.

Bromell was taken into custody after Horry County police were called to Adrian Highway after the property owners reported three men had been on the property looking into barns and buildings, according to a police report. The victims had chased the men, who ran to a golf cart and took it to get away.

Bromell and two 16-year-old juveniles were found walking along Hucks Road with cuts and scrapes from running through the brush, according to the report. The teens told police they were running from the property owners because they had shot at them.

The juveniles were issued citations for stolen property related to the golf cart and Bromell was taken to jail, according to the report. Officers planned to seek warrants for Bromell in connection with the stolen property.
