A Conway man was killed in a single vehicle crash early Friday, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Russell Strickland Jr., 23, of Conway was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash from multiple trauma, Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said. Strickland was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Strickland was driving a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck north along Privetts Road about 12:15 a.m. Friday when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, Cpl. Sonny Collins said. The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
