Since Monday, Myrtle Beach police have arrested five people on charges of prostitution in the city, according to authorities.
On Wednesday, officers charged Heather York Creel, 26, and Lindsey Rae Thomas, 32, both with first-offense prostitution, according to jail records. The women were taken into custody at 2801 S. Kings Highway.
Reports with details of the circumstances of their arrests were not immediately available Wednesday.
On Tuesday, officers charged Shanua Washington, 23, of Kinston, N.C., with first-offense prostitution and took her into custody at Fifth Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard, according to police records.
Officers were working an undercover operation about 1 a.m. Tuesday when an officer was approached by Washington, who asked for a ride and got into the officer’s vehicle, according to a report. The officer drove south from Second Avenue North.
The officer reported that Washington agreed to perform a sexual act for $150, according to the report. Other officers stopped the vehicle and took Washington into custody.
A day earlier on Monday, Myrtle Beach police were working undercover when they arrested Diana Gomez-Ortega, 39, of Houston, Texas, according to a police report. Gomez-Ortega was charged with first-offense prostitution after officers placed a call to an online advertisement regarding a transgendered male in town visiting for four days.
Police noted that Gomez-Ortega agreed to perform a sexual act for $200 and agreed to meet the undercover police officer at a local hotel, according to the report.
Also on Monday, Souksane Vongnalath, 19, was charged with first-offense prostitution and taken into custody at 415 S. Ocean Blvd., but a report regarding the details of the arrest was not available.
