An Horry County woman is facing charges for reportedly running over and assaulting her father, according to an incident report.

Erica Latila Johnson, 32, is charged with attempted murder, second degree assault and battery, providing false information to police, driving under suspension and failure to stop for blue lights. She was arrested by North Myrtle Beach police on the driving under suspension and failure to stop charges May 21, according to city spokesman Pat Dowling. The incident report from North Myrtle Beach was not immediately available.

Horry County police responded to Seacoast Hospital May 18 where the 53-year-old victim told police his daughter ran over him with her car.

He said he fell asleep in the car as Johnson was driving him home about 2 a.m. May 18 and that when he woke up he realized they were on Sanford Road and told his daughter he wasn’t staying there but was at the Mineola Motel on U.S. 17. The man told police that started an argument and that he got out of the car and started walking toward S.C. 57 when his daughter got into her SUV and hit him causing a laceration to his left leg.

He said he was under the front of the vehicle screaming for her to get off but that she kept hitting the gas pedal and that while he was under the car his daughter kicked him in the left eye with her heel.

The man said he was able to get away to a friends home and eventually made it to the hospital.
