A 39-year-old man was jailed Monday on charges related to a robbery where two men reported being tied up at gunpoint by the suspects who were looking for the previous tenant of the apartment, according to authorities.
Tyrone O’Neil Wragg, 39, was charged Monday with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping and one count of first-degree burglary, according to jail records with the Myrtle Beach Police Department. Wragg is being held pending a bond hearing.
Myrtle Beach police arrested Wragg on the charges that stemmed from a 38-year-old victim told officers that about 11:45 p.m. May 7 two men knocked on his door at the Sun Fun Motel at 2305 Withers Drive and pointed a gun in his face when he opened the door, police said.
The victim said the robbers tied him up with a rope and said they were looking for the man who once lived there because that person had "supposedly just got a severance paycheck," according to the report. The robbers took a cellphone, electronic tablet and two flat screen televisions, all valued at $1,500.
A second victim came to the apartment and told police he knocked on the door twice and was met by a man with a gun, according to the report. That 33-year-old man told officers he was pulled into the apartment and had his vehicle keys, cellphone and $635 cash taken from his pockets.
The second victim told police that he parked in front of the motel and when he was about to free himself he saw his 2006 GMC Yukon being driven away, according to the report. But police were able to later recover the vehicle and notified the victim about his vehicle.
