Horry County police are searching for information about a man wanted in connection with an attack on a woman in her Socastee home, according to authorities.

A sketch of the man was released Thursday and Lt. Robert Kegler said anyone with information about the person in the sketch or the incident can call Horry County police at 915-TIPS.

The sketch was completed after Horry County police were called April 25 to a woman’s home where she reported that the man forced his way into her home, attacked and raped her, Kegler said. The victim told officers she believed her attacker had been at her home about two weeks earlier posing as a repairman to fix something.

During that incident, the victim said the man did not go inside the house after she questioned him about his presence, Kegler said.

The man was described as being white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds with gray hair, Kegler said. The man is between 40 and 50 years of age and drove a white truck with a paper license plate.
