A Loris man was indicted by an Horry County grand jury in connection with the November fatal shooting of a teen, according to court records.
Anthony James Phillips, 21, was indicted on the charge of involuntary manslaughter, according to indictments released Friday.
The charge stemmed from the shooting death of Travis Prince, 19, also of Loris. Police said Prince was shot about 10:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and died about 1:30 a.m. the next day.
Prince, Phillips and two others were in a car behind a home on Blue Bird Road when the shooting occurred, according to an Horry County police report.
The group had a .38 caliber revolver and loaded it with four bullets when Phillips accidentally pulled the trigger striking Prince, police said.
A parent inside the house was immediately woken up and Prince was taken to the emergency room where he later died.
