Police arrested a North Carolina man Saturday night in connection with the assault of a woman.

Joshua Kilon Dancy, 30, of Chapel Hill was charged with third-degree assault and battery.

According to a Myrtle Beach police report, officers responded to Ocean Reef Resort at 7100 North Ocean Boulevard at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday for a reported assault.

Officers found both Dancy and the victim, a 37-year-old woman, in the hotel room. The woman’s left eye was swollen and she had bruises on her arms. Dancy had a cut on his left eyebrow and a cut on his arm, police said.

After questioning the woman and Dancy, police determined Dancy was the primary aggressor and arrested him.

The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.
