One person was rescued and taken to the hospital after crashing and overturning in a Conway swamp off Church Street on Friday night.
Conway police were called about 10 p.m. to the area of 1700 Church Street and Crab Tree Swamp in reference to the crash, and found a vehicle overturned, according to authorities.
One person in the vehicle was rescued and taken to the hospital, Lt. Selena Small with Conway police said.
WPDE reports multiple agencies were on scene of the crash, and said two men there jumped into the water and tried to reach the driver.
The two men, who didn’t know each other before the crash, told WPDE they dove in to try to help the driver just as they hoped others would do for them if they were in danger.
Small said that while concerned bystanders rushed to aid the driver before police and fire arrived, rescue crews ultimately pulled the driver from the vehicle.
No update on the person injured was available. Small said the crash remains under investigation.
