A Socastee-area McDonald’s was evacuated by Horry County police early Tuesday morning after an unknown caller said there was a bomb in an outside trash can.
Police responded to the restaurant at 4500 U.S. 17 about 2:15 a.m., set up a perimeter, and called in a bomb squad, according to a police report.
Bomb squad agents didn’t find anything and cleared the scene, authorities said. Horry County police spokeswoman Krystal Dotson said no one was injured during the incident.
Dotson said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
