A 19-year-old Conway man is facing a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of a 48-year-old man.
Richard Andrew Whidby is charged with six counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, in addition to the murder charge, according to Krystal Dotson, spokeswoman with the Horry County police.
About 11:58 p.m. Tuesday, Darryl Hunte, 48, of Conway, died in the shooting after he was struck by a bullet that ripped through the front of the home on Beau Street in the Conway area.
Six other people, including an 8-year-old boy, were there when the shooting happened, and no one else was injured, police said.

Whidby was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Thursday, according jail records, which also showed he remained incarcerated Saturday.
