A 71-year-old woman told Horry County police she was in her living room when she heard glass breaking and about six gunshots on Wednesday night at her Conway-area home.
Officers were called about 8:45 p.m. for a shooting incident. When police arrived, they discovered bullet holes in the living room area, according to a report.
Police spoke with the 71-year-old victim, who said she was sitting in her living room watching television with the lights out when she heard glass shattering and shots ringing out.
The victim told police she was called by a family member earlier that day who wanted her to chase two men who wouldn’t leave his porch. She told officers her family member has a drug addition, authorities said. Police called the victim’s family member who denied owing drug dealers money.
While no witnesses saw suspects, they believed the incident was a retaliation for the victim’s family member not paying his drug bill then having the victim chase men away from his home earlier that day, the report states.
