A Georgetown man told police he forgot he had nearly 22 grams of ecstasy in his pocket when he was arrested outside a club in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Twenty-three-year-old Michael Angelo Mcinnis Jr. was charged with trafficking.
Myrtle Beach police say they were checking a parking lot around 3:30 a.m. when they were called to the parking lot of Natalia’s Bar & Grill at 815 N. Kings Hwy. A security officer had Mcinnis in custody and handed an officer a clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance, according to an incident report.
Officer Steven Rhew said that as he was walking Mcinnis to his patrol car, Mcinnis uttered he forgot the bag was in his pockets when he put the pants on in his vehicle parked outside the bar, according to the report. Police say Mcinnis admitted the security guard removed the substance from his pocket.
The drug tested positive for MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and weighed approximately 21.7 grams, according to the report.
Mcinnis was also charged with simple possession of marijuana when officers at the jail found less than one gram of “green vegetation” in another pants pocket.
