A man, woman, and a 10-month-old child were found dead at an Horry County home early Saturday morning.
“It’s horrible. It’s a horrible, horrible thing,” said Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County police.
Officers responded shortly after midnight to a home on Martin Luther Drive in the Bucksport area in reference to a possible murder-suicide.
Horry County police found multiple victims in the home, including a woman, two children (ages 10 months and 2-years-old) and a man, according to Denis.
The woman, man and 10-month-old child were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is still under investigation, Denis said.
The 2-year-old was taken to a local hospital and his condition is unknown, Denis said.
Thomasena Hunt, a relative who lives next door, told The Sun News she was awoken around 12:30 a.m. to “probably 30 gunshots.”
Hunt said she saw the police coming when she left her home to see what happened.
"This is the first time I've ever heard anybody say anything about them arguing," said Hunt, who added she’s been living nearby for two years. "It was really tragic."
Hunt said she’s never seen police at the house.
Joanne Davis, who identified herself as the sister of the man involved, said she’s grown up with the woman and they were friends.
Davis said the woman killed was a good, hard-working woman.
Police have not revealed any details concerning the cause of death, but Davis said she is “really angry with her brother.”
"It ain't about him,” she said. “He's deceased now and that's where he needs to be. … He should not have took their lives. He's where he's supposed to be at."
Police have not said who was the shooter.
Horry County police are continuing to investigate the incident.
