A 30-year-old Surfside Beach woman was robbed and assaulted after stepping outside her home for some fresh air, police said.
Horry County police were called about 9:30 p.m. Thursday to Sandy Lane in Surfside Beach in reference to a strong armed robbery.
Authorities followed EMS to a local hospital and interviewed the victim there. She told police that aat bout 9:15 p.m. Thursday she left her home to get some fresh air after having recently been sick.
The victim said she walked out into the residential parking lot and a car with tinted windows approached her.
She said a man and two women, who were wearing all black, were in the car, and that a passenger window was rolled down when one of the suspects asked her for a lighter, police said.
She told the suspect she didn’t own a lighter. The passenger got out of the vehicle and struck her, according to the report.
The victim told police the other two suspects got out of the car, and the male suspect grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground, the report states.
When the victim began screaming, the suspects ran back to their car and sped away from the area, police said.
Items were stolen from the victim, but police did not specify what was taken.
