Palmetto Goodwill continues to expand throughout the state with its newest store in Murrells Inlet, which will host a grand opening party Thursday.
The retail store, located at 3655 Old Kings Highway, will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. and present the “Key to Goodwill” to Jerry Oakley, vice chairman of Georgetown County Council.
“By expanding our stores, we are expanding the opportunity for people to donate and therefore expanding our ability to further achieve our mission of providing jobs, job training and placement for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment,” said Robert Smith, CEO and president for Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina.
The celebration will include prize drawings every half-hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., free hotdogs and a coupon for 10 percent off when you bring in a donation.
The new 15,000-square-foot facility features rows of books, a drive-though donation center, racks upon racks of color-coordinated clothing and a hand-painted mission statement on the wall.
