The identity of a woman who drowned Wednesday night in a pond near her home in Conway was recently released by an Horry County coroner.
Elizabeth Causey, 69, of Conway died after authorities said she accidentally fell into a pond near her home, according to Darris Fowler, deputy coroner with Horry County.
Causey fell into the pond at 6:15 p.m. on Quiet Avenue in Conway, near Dongola Highway, and 911 was called.
Battalion Chief Brian VanAernem with Horry County Fire Rescue said Causey and her husband were treating the pond behind their house before she fell in and drowned.

Horry County police were called to the scene, along with HCFR crews, who recovered Causey from the pond, Fowler said.
