A suspected drowning victim was pulled from the water off North Myrtle Beach Tuesday evening, according to city officials.
North Myrtle Beach spokesman Pat Dowling said emergency medical responders believe the man is in his late 70s had a medical emergency while in the water around 6:30 p.m.
A reporter on the scene said the man was not conscious when he was loaded in an ambulance and taken to a hospital.
Dowling said the man’s wife was taken to the hospital with him.
The couple were visitors from out of town, he said.
