Myrtle Beach police were called to the Myrtle Beach Intermediate School Monday after an assistant principal reported a 10-year-old boy had shown a knife to other kids on a school bus that morning.
The assistant principal interviewed several students, who saw the 10-year-old boy with the butterfly knife, according to a Myrtle Beach police report. But, when confronted, the boy said he threw the knife out of a window on the bus as they headed to school, the report stated.
The assistant principal found the knife in the boy’s bookbag.
The kid was not charged, due to his young age, police noted in the report, and the incident was being handled by the school.
