The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for Horry and Georgetown counties and parts of North Carolina. The advisory is in effect from 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning until 6 a.m. Thursday, according the weather service.
The areas under advisory, in addition to coastal Horry and Georgetown counties, are coastal Pender, N.C., coastal New Hanover, N.C., and coastal Brunswick, N.C. counties.
The advisory warns that visibility in the fog will be one quarter mile or less at times, with conditions improving some in the afternoon.
Driving conditions could be hazardous for motorists, according to the weather service; and drivers should use low beam headlights and leave plenty of space between themselves and other motorists.
