S.C. DOT to replace bridge in Loris

A bridge in Loris identified as structurally deficient will be replaced next month, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

A bridge in Loris identified as structurally deficient will be replaced next month, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The bridge on Hemingway Road spans Cowpens Swamp. Work is slated to begin Sept. 8 with completion expected Dec. 29.

The bridge will be closed to drivers during construction. A proposed detour routes motorists on Circle Bay Drive and West Bear Grass Road, a 2.82 mile trip.
