Crews are working on the 15th level of the new 24-story Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare property on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach and construction still is on schedule to be complete by May, according to the building’s contractor.
The Hilton Grand Vacations Club will sit on the stretch of beach between Schooner II Beach and Racquet Club and Boardwalk Hotel on North Ocean Boulevard at 22nd Avenue North. The project is estimated to cost $41.5 million, according to the documents provided to the city.
“We’re placing the 15th level slab now,” said Glenn Williams, vice president with Columbia-based Landmark Builders. “We’ve started some interior work on the lower floors.”
Williams said crews will begin installing frames and glass on the outside of the building in the next month.
The 220-unit timeshare is the first new lodging establishment to be built in Myrtle Beach since construction stopped during the Great Recession. No new hotels have been built in the city since 2009.
