Flood warning issued because of threat of heavy rain

The National Weather Service issued flood warnings late Thursday for northwestern Horry County and parts of Florence, Marion and Dillon counties until 12:45 a.m.

The Weather Service said very heavy rain would move slowly across the area that could create flooding — with one to three inches of rain possible. People in or near areas susceptible to flooding are urged to take precautions.
