Carolina Forest residents will soon have another grocery option when Lowes Foods, at the intersection of River Oaks Drive and International Drive, opens its doors on Wednesday, May 7.
The grocery chain, which also has a location on Cipriana Drive in Myrtle Beach, is known for high-end products and local farm offerings, and the Carolina Forest location boasts several new features.
One of the features is SausageWorks – resident sausage “professors” cook locally-produced sausages to order and offer more than 20 unique flavors. Children can operate animatronics in the SausageWorks sign by pushing buttons and pulling levers.
Lowes also has the Chicken Kitchen, which offers rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, chicken salad and a signature “Cock-a-Doodle-Noodle Soup” – all found under a giant chicken chandelier.
The grocer carries craft beers in bottles and on tap, and shoppers can purchase a 64-ounce growler of their favorite drink.
The Community Table is “the heart of our new store” and will be used for sampling of local products, crafting events for kids and recipe sharing events. The new location offers gas rewards and online shopping as well.
The store employs 180 people and will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 7. The Carolina Forest store marks Lowes Foods fourth location on the Grand Strand. An additional store is scheduled to open in Pawleys Island on June 4.
