One dead, one hospitalized in Loris trailer fire

A woman died and another person was hospitalized after a trailer fire near Loris on Saturday night, said an Horry County coroner.

Fannie Murphy, 67, died from smoke inhalation at the scene, said deputy coroner Tony Kendrick.

Crews responded to the fire, located at 3400 Mt. Olive Road, at about 8 p.m.

Hendrick said he was called to the scene at about 9:30 p.m. when fire crews discovered Murphy in a back bedroom after the fire had been extinguished.

The condition of the person hospitalized Saturday night was unknown.
