One person was shot after an altercation at a Carolina Forest restaurant Tuesday afternoon.
An investigation found that an employee at Longbeards Bar and Grill brandished a knife at his employer, threatening to do bodily harm, according to Lt. Robert Kegler of the Horry County Police Department. After retreating into the parking lot, the employer warned the employee not to come any closer to him with the knife. When the employee continued to move toward the employer, he was shot.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in serious but stable condition at this time.
After conferring with the Solicitors Office, Kegler said it was determined that the shooting was justifiable, and there will be no charges brought against the employer.
The investigation continues to be active, Kegler said.
