With May upon us and the area getting ready for the tourist season, seasonal restrictions continue to go into effect in Myrtle Beach.
Seasonal restrictions in the city of Myrtle Beach begin Wednesday, limiting the hours that pets and bicycles can be on the beach or boardwalk.
Beginning Wednesday, pets and bicycles are allowed on the beach only before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m. through Labor Day, which is Sept. 2 this year.
Pets must be kept on a leash of 7 feet or shorter at all times and pet owners must pick up and properly dispose of any waste.
Additionally, pets and bicycles are allowed on the boardwalk only from 5 to 10 a.m. through Labor Day.
Parking meters went into effect for the season on March 1 and will be up until Sept. 30.
