Organizers have canceled the Myrtle Beach Challenge, an “Amazing Race”-style competition scheduled for Saturday, according to the event’s website.
Event coordinator, Jason Greene, did not immediately return requests for comment.
A message on the homepage of the Myrtle Beach Challenge’s website, www.mbc4good.com, reads: “Due to unforseen [sic] circumstances, the event has been cancelled.”
The Myrtle Beach Challenge was to involve 25-mile cycling, a three- to five-mile run/walk and completing a number of decision-making and problem-solving challenges along the way. The event was going to be a fundraiser for local nonprofit Freedom Readers.
