The old entrance at Myrtle Beach International Airport will close to traffic on April 2, the same day the new terminal opens to travelers.
According to a press release, the old airport entrance will close to traffic permanently and become a dead end. The new entrance is directly across the street from Whispering Pines Gold Course and will be the only access point to the terminals.
Passengers going to the airport entrance will continue on Harrelson Boulevard to Jetport Road.
“The old entrance has been technically closed for several months, but on April 2, 2013, the old entrance will become impassable to passengers attempting to access the terminal building or parking lots,” airport director Mike La Pier said.

Myrtle Beach International Airport’s new $118 million terminal will bring the total number of gates at the airport from seven to 13.
