‘Snowbird Socials’ in MB

A series of “Snowbird Socials” continue on Tuesdays this month. A two-course lunch meal, then dessert and coffee in a suite overlooking The Market Common, costs $15, then the diner can show his or her receipt that day at the Grand 14 Cinema box office for a special $4.50 price for any movie starting before 6 p.m. Reservations recommended, at 839-1868.

Mardi Gras parade

The 21st annual Dick’s Last Resort Mardi Gras Parade will include 50 businesses and an after-party concert by Palehorse at 5:30 p.m. Also, everyone can vote for best and worse parade floats, for which Bully’s Pub won the latter in 2012. Details at 272-7794.

Classic film in Conway

Camera club convenes

The Long Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform a concert in a Valentine’s/romantic theme, covering music from Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz” from “Sleeping Beauty” and his “Romeo and Juliet (Fantasy-Overture), Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera,” Jules Massenet’s “Meditation” from the opera “Thais,” Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s “Wedding March” from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and waltzes from Strauss’ “On the Beautiful Blue Danube.” Details at 448-8379 or www.longbaysymphony.com.
