One person is dead and two more injured following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in the Myrtle Beach area, said Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol website, the crash happened at 2:35 a.m. on Carolina Lakes Boulevard, just past Blackstone Street.
The driver of a 2001 BMW SUV suddenly lost control while driving on Carolina Lakes Boulevard and the vehicle went off the road and started rolling, according to the SCHP. It struck a power line guide wire and eventually a tree.
Fowler said Phillip Burnette, 27, of Myrtle Beach was pronounced dead at the scene. He was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident and was wearing a seat belt.
