A tornado watch remains in effect for Horry and Georgetown counties and Brunswick County, N.C., until 5 p.m. this afternoon.

Strong thunderstorms are expected in the Myrtle Beach area today with a high temperature of 55 degrees, according to AccuWeather. Thunderstorms can bring gusty winds and even an isolated tornado. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for sun, some clouds and 53 degrees.
