Shooting death of Loris teen under investigation

The death of a teenager from Loris who was shot over the weekend remains under investigation Monday.

No suspects are in custody as of 1 p.m. Monday.

Travis Prince, 19, was shot about 10:30 p.m. Friday and died about 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, said Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.

Horry County police responded to the hospital in Loris after Prince died, said Sgt. Robert Kegler with Horry County police.

The shooting occurred on Blue Bird Lane in Loris, Kegler said. Detectives with the violent crimes division is investigating the shooting and the teen’s death.

No other details have been released by police.
