A settlement was reached Monday in a lawsuit between the Horry County Police Department and a woman known as Jane Doe 2 who reported she was sexually harassed by a former detective.
Jane Doe 2 filed a lawsuit May 11, 2016, claiming that former Horry County police Detective Allen Large sexually assaulted her after he was assigned to investigate the woman’s rape case.
“In exchange for ‘helping’ (Jane Doe 2), he later demanded that she engage in a nude “catfight’ against a specific female as there was a group of men in the area who liked to watch women participate in nude, videotaped fist-fights,” the lawsuit said.
“When (Jane Doe 2) resisted Detective Large’s requests, he threatened to take personal action to ensure that (she) would not be permitted to visit her children,” the lawsuit said.
Large also asked the victim to participate in “catfights” with other women who were victims of violent crimes, the lawsuit said.
No settlement was reached in the mediation talks last week on the lawsuits filed by Jane Doe 3 and Jane Doe 4, which are now expected to go to trial.
No details have been disclosed on settlement amounts.
