One person was killed in a Georgetown County crash Friday afternoon.
The crash was reported around 1:46 p.m. on Chopee and Rose Hill roads in Georgetown County, according to Assistant Chief Tony Hucks with the Georgetown County Fire Department, and Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson confirmed to The Sun News he was en route to the scene.
Cpl. Sonny Collins reported at 92 Honda Prelude was traveling southbound when the driver lost control, crossed the center line and was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. The driver of the Honda was wearing a seat belt but was killed in the accident.
One person was ejected during the two-vehicle crash, and another was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center for treatment, Hucks said.
