Volunteers will help the Carolina Forest Civic Association plant the first 42 crape myrtles along River Oaks Drive Saturday as part of the revitalization of medians there and on Carolina Forest Boulevard.
Volunteers are asked to wear light clothing, bring a shovel and gather at 8 a.m., parking either in the lot of the Food Lion grocery store or near 4100 River Oaks Drive. The association is asking that no one park along River Oaks Drive.
Rain date for the planting has been set for Sunday.
The Civic Association is seeking contributions for the cost of the crape myrtles. People can donate at www.gofundme.com.
