Benchmark Communities, one of at least two California-based developers to enter the Myrtle Beach market recently, is holding open houses this month at two of the subdivisions it got when it bought Charlotte-based Citizen Homes early this year.

The company has scheduled them for Saturday and Sunday as well as next weekend.

The subdivisions are Summerlyn in Carolina Forest and Palm Lakes in Little River.

In addition to Benchmark’s activity, two California companies teamed together recently to buy Myrtle Beach Mall, which they plan to reinvigorate.
