The chief medical officer at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center has decided to hang his hat with the competition.

The chief medical officer at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center has decided to hang his hat with the competition.

Dr. John Charles, who was with Grand Strand for 25 years, ll as chief medical officer, has accepted the position of vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer of McLeod Loris Seacoast.

Charles was an emergency department physician at Grand Strand before he was named chief medical officer there.
