The Grand Strand’s first Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market is set to open at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Located along U.S. 17 Business at S.C. 544 near Surfside Beach, the Market will be open 24 hours and have the area’s first drive-thru pharmacy in a grocery store. It also will offer delivery and pick-up options to those who shop at www.walmart.com.
It is about one-fifth the size of a Wal-Mart Supercenter.
Surfside Beach Mayor Douglas Samples said Wal-Mart used to have a store nearby.
“We’re glad they’re back and providing job opportunities and great products,” he said in a news release.
The Market will employ 95 people in fulltime and part-time jobs.
