Michael Allen Hilton, 56, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with two felony DUI charges resulting in death or injury, after an accident late Saturday night led to the death of Angelo Gonzalez, 44, of Boardman, Ohio.

Myrtle Beach Police said that Hilton's blood alcohol level was .15, almost double the legal limit, when he was driving southbound on U.S. 17 Business Saturday. He made a left turn from U.S. 17 to Wildwood Dunes Trail, cutting off Gonzalez who was riding his motorcycle with girlfriend, Susan Reader, police said.

The motorcycle hit the right rear panel of the truck and both riders were thrown from the bike, police said. Gonzalez died at the scene and Reader was taken to Grand Strand Regional Hospital where nursing supervisor, Stacy Boezi, said she was in fair condition Sunday afternoon.

Hilton was arrested and taken to Myrtle Beach Jail, where he had a bond hearing Sunday morning. He was charged with two counts of felony DUI, and failure to yield the right of way, police said. Hilton was released on $75,000 bond. Calls to Hilton's residence Sunday were not returned.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
