THE LOCALE | Pinky O'Doyles

THE LOWDOWN | Sports fans listen up - there's a new sports bar in town where you can kick back and watch a game. It's called Pinky O'Doyles, and that's where we went for happy hour this week.

You'll find Pinky O'Doyles on U.S. 17 Business in Garden City Beach near the Garden City Walmart, where a variety of other bars and businesses have been. The establishment has blue walls and a black and white checkered floor. Some patrons belly-up to the large U-shaped bar. Others grab seats at high and low-top tables, and some spend their time at the two pool tables. Darts, Silver Strike and Golden Tee are also available to for your enjoyment.

There are almost 20 TVs scattered throughout the joint, each with a chalkboard underneath indicating which game is showing (or will be showing) on

that particular TV. The bar will carry the NFL Ticket and all sports fans are welcome, especially Buckeye fans. If you are an Ohio State fan, you'll probably notice the Pinky O'Doyles sign has a block "O" and "S" for OSU.

The menu features your typical bar favorites such as wings, chicken tenders and sliders. It also features a couple of items that may be a first for your taste buds, such as Pinky's Frickles - dill pickle spears wrapped in ham, cream cheese and fried. You can catch daily food specials throughout the week.

And you can catch happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. daily. Happy hour drink deals include $2 domestic beer bottles and cans, $1.75 draft beers, and $3.25 well drinks. You can snag free fresh popped popcorn during happy hour, too.

TIPS | Ask about the late-night specials. Also ask about private parties.
